Eliades Becomes Treasurer of State Bar
New Brunswick, NJ - Paris Eliades is the new treasurer of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
The Sparta lawyer took the oath of office May 20 at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention at the Borgata Casino Hotel and Spa in Atlantic City. It has been over 30 years since a Sussex County lawyer served on the association’s executive committee. He is on track to become president of the state’s largest lawyers group in 2014.
“I am thrilled to serve the lawyers of New Jersey,” said Eliades, a family law attorney. “I hope to create phenomenal relationships with the county bar associations and show people just how much the bar association does for its members.”
Eliades is a partner at Courter, Kobert & Cohen in Sparta. He is a former assistant Sussex County prosecutor and municipal prosecutor in Hamburg. During his career he has handled almost every kind of trial there is – from workers’ compensation cases to matrimonial matters.
His state bar association service has been extensive. Eliades served for many years as a member of the Board of Trustees. He belongs t the membership and public relations committee, is an executive committee members of the Family Law Section. He is also a trustee of the Municipal Court Practice Section and is the Sussex County representative to the Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee.
