Lynn Fontaine Newsome Receives Distinguished Legislative Service Award

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Lynn Fontaine Newsome received the New Jersey State Bar Association’s (NJSBA) Distinguished Legislative Service Award during the Association’s Board of Trustees Meeting and Holiday Luncheon on December 12, 2008 at the New Jersey Law Center. She is a Lawrenceville resident and attorney in Morristown.

The award recognizes Ms. Newsome for her efforts in launching the First Annual NJSBA Day in Trenton to support the NJSBA’s advocacy efforts and build relationships between the NJSBA, the Legislature, the Governor and other government officials.

An NJSBA member since 1985, Ms. Newsome is the Immediate Past President of the NJSBA. Currently she is the Chair of the Personnel Committee, Vice Chair for Morris County of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee, and a member of the Family Law Section, the Infrastructure Committee, and the Task Force on Disaster Planning. Additionally, Ms. Newsome has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee and was chair of its Rules Subcommittee form 1999 to 2001. In 2006, the NJSBA Family Law Section honored her with the Saul Tischler Award in recognition of her career achievements that embody the highest standards of professionalism in the practice of family law.

A Seton Hall University Law School graduate, Ms. Newsome is a partner in the law firm of Donahue, Hagan Klein Newsome & O’Donnell.
