NJ Law Journal and NJ State Bar Association Announce Print and Online Publishing Partnership
NEWARK AND NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (November 12, 2008) – The New Jersey Law Journal, an Incisive Media publication, and the New Jersey State Bar Association today announced a new, multilevel publishing partnership. As part of the alliance, which includes both print and online, Incisive Media has purchased certain assets and liabilities of the New Jersey Lawyer newspaper. In turn, it will provide the Bar Association with dedicated pages in each issue of the NJLJ and the Bar Association will appoint five new members to the NJLJ’s independent board of editorial writers. In addition, the NJLJ and Bar Association will cooperate on e-newsletter and Web site publishing and links.
The NJLJ will assume subscription and advertising responsibilities for New Jersey Lawyer, which will cease publication. The NJLJ will continue to publish the “Daily Briefing” e-newsletter for Bar Association members. Four pages of association-related news and information will appear in the NJLJ and on the njlj.com Web site. Both organizations will cross-link their respective sites. Appointments by the Bar Association will increase the total membership of the NJLJ editorial board to 38.
“While we have been proud to own the New Jersey Lawyer for the past 16 years, we are excited about this new chapter in our history. We believe this partnership will create a new, dynamic way to bring lawyers across the state more in-depth coverage of the Association’s central issues and events,” said Bar President Peggy Sheahan Knee. “It will have the added benefit of shoring up our financial picture so we can continue to broaden our efforts to serve our members and the public for the years to come.”
“We both believe that this new working relationship between our organizations will benefit the state’s lawyers and create additional opportunities for us to define and deliver expanded information and new services to our common clients,” said Robert Steinbaum, publisher of the NJLJ.
