NJSBA General Council to Elect Nominating Committee Member


Nominating petitions for General Council members seeking a two year term on the New Jersey State Bar Association Nominating Committee must be filed with the Association by Friday, August 29, 2008. The Nominating Committee is responsible for nominating candidates to serve in officer and trustee positions on the NJSBA Board of Trustees.

Any member of the NJSBA’s General Council may be nominated for the Nominating Committee seat by filing a petition signed by no fewer than 10 members of the General Council, provided that his or her county is not already represented on the Nominating Committee (as provided by the Association’s bylaws, Article IV, paragraph 2). The following counties are currently represented on the Nominating Committee: Bergen, Essex, Morris, Monmouth, Passaic and Union. Petitions must be submitted to the NJSBA Executive Director.

An election to fill the vacant committee seat will be held at the General Council’s Annual Meeting scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2008.
