Domenick Carmagnola Named Essex County Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Domenick Carmagnola, a founding member of the Morristown law firm Carmagnola & Ritardi LLC, was appointed to a two-year term on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Board of Trustees. He was sworn in at the NJSBA’s Annual Meeting and Convention in Atlantic City on May 22.
An NJSBA member since 1989, Mr. Carmagnola is the 2nd Vice Chair and Executive Committee member of the Labor and Employment Law Section, and a member of the Civil Trial Bar Section. In addition, he is a former President of the NJSBA Sidney Reitman Labor and Employment Law American Inn of Court, a former President and current member of the Essex County Bar Association, former Editor of the Editorial Board of the Labor and Employment Section Quarterly, and a member of the Morris County Bar Association and American Bar Association (ABA).
Mr. Carmagnola graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is a certified civil trial attorney whose practice focuses on labor and employment law matters and he has written extensively in this area. His articles have appeared in several publications, including the New Jersey Lawyer, the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine and the New Jersey Law Journal. In addition, he co-authored “Special Evidentiary Concerns”, Employment Litigation Handbook, (ABA 1998) and “Employment Torts” chapter of Business Torts Litigation (ABA 1992, 1999). He is a frequent speaker on labor and employment law for the NJSBA Labor and Employment Law Section, New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE), the Essex County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including: Chambers USA “Leading Business Lawyers” in Labor and Employment Law, 2003-Present, “The Best Lawyers in America”, Woodward White, New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” (2003), New Jersey Law Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” (2002), NJSBA’s “Young Lawyer of the Year Professional Achievement Award” (1998), “The David Solomon Award” (Most Outstanding Barrister) Sidney Reitman Labor and Employment Law American Inn of Court (1997), and the Essex County Bar Association “Civil Trial Award”(2005) and “Special Merit Award” (1998).
Active in the community, Mr. Carmagnola is the 2nd Vice President of the Cedar Lake Property Owners Association, a former member of the American Heart Association Essex County Heart Walk, a former Task Force member of Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and a past coordinator for the Essex County Bar Association’s “Go to Bat for Legal Aid” softball tournament.
