The NJSBA’s Pro Bono Committee is soliciting nominations for its Annual Pro Bono Award
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee is soliciting nominations for the NJSBA’s Annual Pro Bono Award.
The Award was established to recognize exemplary pro bono contributions made by individuals, law firms, corporate law departments, NJSBA sections, committees or divisions and/or other organizations or associations. The criteria by which nominees are judged are as follows: (1) the total number of pro bono hours spent or complexity of cases handled by the nominee; (2) the impact of the nominee’s pro bono work and/or benefit for the poor; (3) particular expertise provided or particular need satisfied by the nominee; (4) successful recruitment by the nominee of other attorneys for pro bono representation; or (5) proven commitment by the nominee to the delivery of quality legal services to the poor and providing equal access to legal services.
The award is typically presented by the NJSBA President at the NJSBA Annual Meeting in Atlantic City in May.
Persons interested in submitting nominations are encouraged to complete a form found at the end of the Award Solicitation Letter to nominate any appropriate individual, law firm, corporate law department, NJSBA section/committee/division or other organization or association that has exhibited exemplary pro bono service to the New Jersey. The deadline for submission of nominations is March 20, 2008.
