Anthony F. Picheca, Jr. Named Trustee of New Jersey State Bar Association

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Anthony F. Picheca Jr., a life-long Far Hills resident and attorney, was appointed to a two-year term on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Board of Trustees. He was sworn in at the NJSBA’s Annual Meeting in Atlantic City, May 16-18.

An NJSBA member since 1976, Mr. Picheca is a member of the Municipal Court Practice Section, Animal Law Committee, Business and Commercial Litigation Committee, Election Law Committee and Special Civil Part Committee. He is a member and past president of the Somerset County Bar Foundation and Somerset County Bar Association, and is a member of the Morris County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In 2004, Mr. Picheca was honored by the Commission for Professionalism with the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for Somerset County.

Since 1979, Mr. Picheca has been a member of the Commercial Law League of America, serving as a member, co-chair and chair of numerous League Committees. He has been a contributing writer to the “Commercial Law League Bulletin.” In 2005, he was elected President of the Eastern District Council of the Commercial Law League of America and is a four-time delegate to its Nominating Council.

Mr. Picheca graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University and received his law degree from Western New England College School of Law in 1976. He is admitted to practice in

New Jersey and before the United States District Court and United States Supreme Court and is a Municipal Court Judge for the township of Hillsborough.

The New Jersey State Bar Association, incorporated in 1899, is dedicated to the continuing education of lawyers and the public, to reforming the legal system and to aiding in the administration of justice.
