Daniel L. Weiss Re-Appointed Trustee to New Jersey State Bar Association
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Daniel L. Weiss, a partner in the Freehold and Paterson law firm of Shulman & Weiss, LLP, and Manhattan resident was re-appointed to a two-year term on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Board of Trustees. He was sworn in at the NJSBA’s Annual Meeting in Atlantic City, May 16-18.
An NJSBA member since 1991, Mr. Weiss was first appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2006. He is currently a member of the Immigration, Naturalization and Americanism Section and was the founder and first chair of the Association’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Rights Committee.
Mr. Weiss has been practicing immigration law for over 15 years and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He founded and chaired the AILA’s Gay and Lesbian Interest Section. He is currently the Chairman of the District IX Ethics Committee.
A graduate of the American University in Washington, DC, Mr. Weiss received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Law and Commerce and served as executive editor from 1989 to 1990. He attended the College of William and Mary, Wythe School of Law in Madrid Spain in 1988 and participated in the International Law Program: Concentration in International Law/Spanish Law and EEC Law.
The New Jersey State Bar Association, incorporated in 1899, is dedicated to the continuing education of lawyers and the public, to reforming and improving the legal system and to aiding in the administration of justice.
