Peter F. Weiss Named Passaic County Trustee

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ-Wayne attorney Peter F. Weiss was installed as Passaic County Trustee to the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) at the organization’s Annual Meeting on May 18 in Bally’s Atlantic City. The 45-member Board of Trustees manages the affairs and operation of the association.

A member of the NJSBA since 1990, Mr. Weiss previously served on the Board as Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Trustee from 1999 to 2001. He was also a member of the association’s Nominating Committee from 2003 to 2005. Mr. Weiss is a former Chair of the YLD and served on the YLD Executive Committee from 1994 to 2001. He is presently a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.

Mr. Weiss is a former president of the Passaic County Bar Association (PCBA) and currently a member of the PCBA Board of Trustees. He is Chair of the PCBA’s Probate, Real Property and Taxation Section, and Probate and Trust Committee. A member of county bar’s Professionalism and Chancery committees, Mr. Weiss also served as Chair of the PCBA’s Young Lawyers Division, Court Orientation Committee, and Social and Program Committee. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Weiss is a partner at Weiss Law Offices in Wayne. He is a municipal judge for the Township of Wayne and formerly served the township as municipal public defender. Mr. Weiss is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and earned his law degree from The Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The New Jersey State Bar Association, incorporated in 1899, is dedicated to the continuing education of lawyers and the public, to reforming and improving the legal system and to aiding in the administration of justice.
