Bar Foundation to Honor Distinguished Jurist and Attorney with Medal of Honor Awards
The New Jersey State Bar Foundation's prestigious Medal of Honor awards will be presented to the Hon. Anne E. Thompson, a Senior U.S. District Judge and attorney Joel A. Leyner, a former trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, for their long-standing dedication to New Jersey’s legal system. The awards, given each year to candidates who have made outstanding contributions to improving the justice system, will be presented at the Foundation's Annual Awards Dinner Reception on Tuesday, June 14, at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.
In addition to the Medal of Honor awards, the Foundation will present two attorneys with Outstanding Volunteer Service Awards. Those attorneys are Robert B. White, III, Assistant Deputy Public Defender of Middlesex County and Ronald C. Appleby Jr., Assistant Middlesex County Prosecutor, who, on behalf of the Bar Foundation, participated in a 10-week Law Apprenticeship with students from McKinley Community School in New Brunswick.
The event, which begins at 6 p.m., is open to all those interested in attending.
