Mary-Alice Barrett Named Young Lawyers Division Trustee For New Jersey State Bar Association
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Mary-Alice Barrett, a resident of Hoboken and an attorney with Bristol-Myers Squibb in New York City, was installed as a Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Trustee for the New Jersey State Bar Association at the organization’s recent annual meeting in Atlantic City.
An NJSBA member since 1996, Barrett is immediate past chair of the Young Lawyers Division. She started her service with the YLD in 1997 as Morris County representative and continued her work with the division as secretary, treasurer, chair-elect and chair. Barrett is also a member of the NJSBA’s Membership Committee.
A member of the Morris County Bar Association, she served the county association as Child Advocacy Project Chair.
Barrett is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and serves as ABA YLD District 6 (NJ) Representative. She also served on the ABA YLD Member Services Project from 2002-2003.
Barrett received her law degree from Washington College of Law, The American University in 1995. She is also a graduate of Lafayette College where she received an A.B. in government and law, and economics and business.
Barrett is counsel, litigation with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in New York. Her practice is in product liability litigation.
The New Jersey State Bar Association, incorporated in 1899, is dedicated to the continuing education of lawyers and the public, to reforming and improving the legal system and to aiding in the administration of justice.
