Lynn Fontaine Newsome Named Second Vice President Of New Jersey State Bar Association
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Lynn Fontaine Newsome, a Morristown attorney and Lawrenceville resident, was installed as second vice president of the New Jersey State Bar Association at the organization’s annual meeting in Atlantic City on May 20. Newsome also serves as trustee for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, the NJSBA’s philanthropic arm.
Newsome has been a member of the NJSBA for 22 years and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1998. A certified matrimonial attorney, she is a former chair of the Family Law Section and lectures at Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and Family Law Section cosponsored seminars and conferences.
Newsome organized the first Family Law Bench-Bar Conference cosponsored by ICLE and the section in 2001. She also participated as a state team member at the National Conference on Pro Se Litigation in November 1999.
Since 1997, Newsome has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee and was chair of its Rules Subcommittee from 1999 to 2001. She is a past president of the Morris County Bar Association and Foundation, and a former chair of the Morris County Family Law Committee.
Newsome is a Master of the Family Law Inns of Court, and from 1989 to 1994, was a Barrister/Master of the Worrall F. Mountain Inns of Court. Newsome served on the District X Ethics Committee from 1990 to 1993. She is also a member of the Mercer County and American bar associations, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
A partner in the Morristown and Short Hills law firm of Donahue, Hagan, Klein & Newsome, P.C., Newsome is a graduate of Seton Hall University and received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1981.
The New Jersey State Bar Association, incorporated in 1899, is dedicated to the continuing education of lawyers and the public, to reforming and improving the legal system and to aiding in the administration of justice.
