Law Day 2011 YouTube Video Contest
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – For the third year in a row, the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division is asking middle and high school students to film their own Law Day video and enter it in the YLD’s Law Day 2011 YouTube Video Contest.
Entries will be posted on the State Bar’s YouTube page, www.youtube.com/NewJerseyStateBar, and cash prizes awarded to the top winners.
“The Young Lawyers Division, in conjunction with the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, are hosting a video contest to reach out to students and engage them in our nation’s history as well as provide another avenue to help educators reach out to their students,” said Jeffrey Neu, Esq., chair of the Law Day 2011 YouTube Video Contests for the YLD of both the New Jersey State Bar Association and the ABA.
The State Bar’s YLD is also participating in the American Bar Association’s Law Day contest by entering its top high school winners in the ABA competition, where the top four national finalists will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC for the Law Day 2011 festivities.
“It's a great opportunity for our high school students to get national recognition for their creativity,” said Neu. “And the contest itself is an opportunity for students to stretch their imagination as they interpret one of the greatest legal systems ever devised,” said Neu.
The deadline for entries is March 1, 2011. The winner will be announced on April 1, 2011, and the winners will be invited to an award ceremony at the state capital, Trenton, New Jersey. Full contest details with registration and permission forms, and a link to upload video entries are available at www.njsba.com/lawday.
