NJSBA General Council to Elect Nominating Committee Member

NJSBA GENERAL COUNCIL TO ELECT
NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEMBER
Nominating petitions for General Council members seeking a two year term on the New Jersey State Bar Association Nominating Committee must be filed with the Association no later than September 1, 2011. The Nominating Committee is responsible for nominating candidates to serve in officer and trustee positions on the NJSBA Board of Trustees, as ABA delegates, and members of the Nominating Committee.
Any member of the NJSBA’s General Council may be nominated for the Nominating Committee seat by filing a petition signed by no fewer than 10 members of the General Council (as designated in the Association’s bylaws, Article VI, paragraph 1). Nominees from Somerset County are not eligible,
pursuant to Article IV, paragraph 1 (i) of the Association’s bylaws, which prohibits more than one of the two members elected to the Nominating Committee by the General Council to be from the same county.

An election to fill the vacant committee seat will be held at the General Council Meeting scheduled for Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Law Center, New Brunswick. For those members who cannot attend the meeting and wish to vote, absentee ballots will be available and details of this procedure will be forthcoming.
