2010 Black History Month Essay Contest and Reception
The Minorities in the Profession’s Black History Month Reception was held at the Law Center on
Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Awards were presented to this year’s essay contest winner. Rutgers University professor Clement A. Price gave the Keynote address.

2nd Place – Maxwell S. Freedman (Leonia High School) – “We All Face the Same Problems” [read the essay]
3rd Place – Christian Bacchia (Leonia High School) – “The Future is Now” [read the essay]
The works of noted artists Emmitt Wigglesworth and Betty Blayton Taylor were on display courtesy of the Canvas Paper and Stone gallery, Harlem NY.
The program also featured a special performance by the Trenton Central High School Orchestra.
2009 Professionalism Awards
The Minorities in the Profession Section congratulates section member and former chair, Tracey M. Thompson on receiving the 2009 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award.

Tracy was nominated by The Garden State Bar Association. The award was presented at a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick on October 22.
