2010 Municipal Court Practice Award
Jessica S. Oppenheim received the 2010 NJSBA Municipal Court Practice Award at the NJSBA Annual Meeting and Convention in May.
Currently an Assistant Middlesex County Prosecutor, Ms. Oppenheim was the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Prosecutor’s Supervisory Section of that office and led the State’s efforts for most of State v. Chun which ultimately held that the Alcotest 7110 MkllC was conditionally reliable for evidentiary use in court. The award was previously given to a member of the Chun defense team, and the NJSBA Amicus counsel.

New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Barry T. Albin
was the special guest speaker at the Municipal Court Practice Section Meeting on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Law Center.
Justice Albin, a trial lawyer before joining the high court bench, emphasized the importance of making a solid record and acting with candor before the court.

A Dialogue on Discovery in the E-Age
October 28, 2009
NJ Supreme Court Associate Justice Virginia Long led a free-flowing discussion on the future of discovery in the New Jersey courts. Justice Long chairs the Supreme Court’s Ad Hoc Committee charged with evaluating the problems practitioners encounter with discovery and solutions to them in the electronic age.
This program was presented by the NJSBA Criminal Law and Municipal Court Practice Sections and the Young Lawyers Division.

Municipal Court Practice Section members receive NJSBA Amicus Curiae Award
Jeffrey E. Gold and Arnold N. Fishman received the award at the NJSBA Board of Trustees Meeting and Holiday Luncheon on December 12, 2008. The award recognized their efforts in representing the NJSBA in the case of State v. Chun.
