This is a very exciting time. You're embarking on a journey through law school and looking forward to all the doors that may open to you. Your path is one that others have traveled before, but you're different in that you are becoming a lawyer in the rapidly changing age of new technology.
You have a lot to offer and the NJSBA has a lot to offer you.
The New Jersey State Bar Association is the largest professional association for lawyers in this state. Our members include attorneys from all walks of life, from all areas of practice, and the sum of our members' experience is incalculable as well as invaluable. This vast experience is a resource available to you as a student member, and once you pass the bar exam, as a member of the NJSBA. At meetings, seminars, networking events and our annual and mid-year meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet and speak face-to-face with leaders in their practice areas. And these members are looking forward to your input as a soon-to-be new lawyer.
Through the Message Boards of this Law Student area of the NJSBA website, we invite communication between our law student members and experienced members so that networking can happen online as well as in person. Utilize the Message Board not only to communicate with members who are already practicing law, but also with your fellow law students. This information exchange can help you and the NJSBA. With your comments, suggestions and issues, we can improve this law student community to make it better. You can make your opinions heard and enhance your networking opportunities within the association.
There is an even greater reason for Getting Involved as a law student member and then continuing on as a full member of the NJSBA. Your career. The contacts that you make networking as an NJSBA member can help you move forward.
