Email Exchange Groups
NJSBA section members conduct online dialogues using Email Exchange Groups that function like a listserv. By using their own email account, section members can send an email to all members of the exchange group. Responses can be sent and read by the entire group, or only sent to the originator of the message, depending on the respondent's choice. Email Exchange Groups are very popular with associations, organizations, clubs, or any group whose members share similar interests where instant communication supplies rapid answers to questions, encourages networking and enables interaction among members online, 24/7. Not all NJSBA Sections have Email Exchange Groups set up at this time. To find out if your section has a group, visit Email Subscriptions. Login with your NJSBA ID number and password to view the sections that have Email Exchange Groups. Put a checkmark next to the group that you would like to join, click submit, and follow the instructions.

Online Communities
The Sections of the NJSBA have their own individual mini-websites called Online Communities. Beginning with the home page called, Noteworthy News, the online communities provide a hub for news, information, communication and networking among section members. From these communities, section members can send email blasts to the entire section membership through an Email Distributor. Messages can be posted and read in a bulletin board format called the Forum. Newsletters, articles, case summaries, regulatory reports, amicus briefs, anything that would be of interest to the members of the specific sections are available for download on the Newsletters page. The minutes from section meetings are displayed on a Minutes page and the section has its own individualized, branded meetings calendar on the Calendar page. Daily Briefing
New Jersey State Bar Association members can receive the Daily Briefing as an exclusive member benefit. The Daily Briefing provides news briefs and summaries of judicial decisions (both approved and not approved for publication) from the previous day, as well as federal and administrative agency reports. It is sent electronically, Monday through Friday, to NJSBA members who sign up for the free electronic subscription.

NJSBA Offers Support for Addiction Problems
New Jersey lawyers who are abusing alcohol or drugs or are compulsive gamblers are encouraged to take advantage of the extremely successful guidance and counseling offered through the New Jersey Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP). Located in the New Jersey Law Center, the LAP is a professional and confidential program that provides lawyers with free evaluations, advice and treatment referrals. The LAP has a 24-hour hotline, a network of peer attorney counselors, as well as a network of attorney support groups that meet weekly throughout the state. There are two rooms available for NJSBA members who need space for depositions or attorney/client meetings, available Monday-Friday at no charge. The New Jersey Law Center is a state-of-the art conference facility, capable of accommodating groups from eight to 250, with audiovisual and catering services.
