Award Solicitation Letter
The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee is soliciting nominations for this year’s NJSBA’s Annual Pro Bono Award.
The Award was established to recognize exemplary pro bono contributions made by individuals, law firms, corporate law departments, NJSBA sections, committees or divisions and/or other organizations or associations. The criteria by which nominees are judged are as follows: (1) the total number of pro bono hours spent or complexity of cases handled by the nominee; (2) the impact of the nominee’s pro bono work and/or benefit for the poor; (3) particular expertise provided or particular need satisfied by the nominee; (4) successful recruitment by the nominee of other attorneys for pro bono representation; or (5) proven commitment by the nominee to the delivery of quality legal services to the poor and providing equal access to legal services.
Since 2003, ten attorneys (from solo practitioners to large firm partners) and nine institutions (from law firms and corporations to law school programs) have received this prestigious award.
